    Camp Description
Du ji.een (Lingít for Helping them work) Academy is a multi-week program designed for High school students to achieve academic success.

Week 1, will be spent mostly in the field, learning to properly identify and ethically harvest plants for food, medicine and tools. This time will help reinforce our intrinsic need to have a healthy relationship with the land.

Week 2, Indigenous artist and scientist will help guide our students to a better understanding of the materials they harvested the week prior. We will also jump into Digital design, providing our participants with many potential rewarding and exciting career paths.

Week 3, our primary focus this week is studio time to create something unique and expressive. Bonus topics include ancient customary artforms and introduction to modern Fabrication tools and techniques.

Week 4, we will be working offsite with artist/boat builder and Elder, Doug Modig at APU, on his strip canoe.

Week 5, a short week where we will spend time with Museum professionals who help us display our work. All of this is building up to the first ever Art Show at Denelchin Lab.
